OVATION IS A TOURING DANCE EXPERIENCE FOUNDED BY JULIANNE HOUGH AND DEREK HOUGH. THIS PROJECT WAS PHOTOGRAPHED ALONGSIDE A LIVE COMMERCIAL PRODUCTION, CAPTURING PORTRAITS, GROUP IMAGERY, AND PERFORMANCE MOMENTS IN REAL TIME.
THE APPROACH WAS BUILT TO MOVE BETWEEN MULTIPLE LIGHTING SCENARIOS, DYNAMIC WIDE-ANGLE COVERAGE, AND ENVIRONMENTAL PORTRAITURE WHILE WORKING SEAMLESSLY WITHIN AN ACTIVE FILMING ENVIRONMENT.

This shoot was pre-produced to support a live performance environment, defining the portrait setups, framing, and lighting systems required to operate alongside active filming and choreography.
The lighting approach was designed to maintain consistency and visual clarity while moving between direct group portraits, wide-angle performance coverage, and fall-off lighting for sculpted, intimate portraiture, all under real-time production conditions.

Select assets were reviewed and delivered during production, with a full edit completed immediately following filming.
This approach required operating directly inside an active set, capturing stills between takes, lighting resets, and live moments while video production continued uninterrupted.

BUILT FOR CAMPAIGN USE
The imagery was created to extend beyond the production day.
Final assets were delivered as a flexible library for tour promotion, press, and digital platforms, translating live performance into a cohesive campaign system built for scale.
